Ingredients
- ½ cup Basmati rice.
- 1½ cup water.
- 6 coconut cubes.( 1 cube=1 tbsp.)
- 2 tbsp. Coconut oil.
- ½ tsp. Salt.
- ¼ tsp. Asafoetida powder.
- ½ tsp. Shahjeera.
- ¼ tsp. Turmeric powder.
- 2 pieces of Cinnamon stick.
- 1 tbsp. finely chopped coriander leaves.
- 2 bay leaves.
- 4-5 Curry leaves.
- 1 or 2 green chili.
Method
- Wash Rice twice.
- Heat oil in non stick pan.
- Add Shahjeera, wait for crackling sounds and add all other spices.
- Saute for 1 minute and add rice and coconut cubes.
- Again saute for a minute and add required quantity of water.
- As water starts boiling turn the flame from high to low .
- Cook till all the rice grains are tender.
- Add water if necessary .
- Serve rice with Vegetable Stew or Rasam or as you desire.
