(396) Besan Modak

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chana dal coarse flour.
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • 4 tbsp. Ghee
  • 1 tsp. Cardamom powder


Method

  1. Heat ghee in a  thick bottom kadhai and add chana dal coarse flour in it.
  2. Patiently roast on a slow flame .
  3. When colour changes from light yellow to golden brown, add milk in it and again roast .
  4. Stir continuously and when the water contents of  milk completely evaporates turn the flame off.
  5. Transfer the roasted besan in a big mixing bowl and keep aside for 5-6 hours  to cool down.
  6. Grind sugar into fine powder and keep aside.
  7. After 6 hours mix powdered sugar and Cardamom powder and make modak out of it.
  8. Offer Besan Modak to Ganpati Bappa with love, faith and devotion.
