(500) Gulkand

Benefits of Chaitri Gulab

  • It balances Pitta dosha like heat rashes, acidity and irritability
  • Internally cooling and purifying so help in managing urticaria, heat induced rashes and other skin irruptions like pimples and acnes
  • It improves digestion and improve appetite and also acts as mild laxative
  • Rich in antioxidants which helps to rejuvenate tissues.
  • Due to its pleasent fragrance it reduces mental stress and uplift mood so use in Aroma therapy.

Ingredients

  • 300 g. Chaitri Roses.( Pink sweet scented real roses)
  • 500 g. Misri powder ( Rock Sugar)

Method

  1. Separate petals from the Rose flower
  2. Wash petals two times and then spread over kitchen towel for 1 hour under the fan.
  3. In a sauce pan make a lower layer with Misri powder.
  4. Spread Rose petals on the Misri layer
  5. Make another Misri layer over Rose petals.
  6. Fourth layer in the sauce pan is of Rose petals.
  7. And final fifth layer is of Misri powder.
  8. If your vessel is big and ingredients are less then make sure that your upper and lower layer should be of Misri powder.
  9. Close the lid of the sauce pan and keep aside for 24 hours.
  10. Next morning open the lid, stir thoroughly and either cover the pan with cloth or net strainer and keep this pan under the Sun for 7-8 hours.
  11. In the evening bring the pan inside the home, stir well, close the lid and keep aside.
  12. Repeat the same process for 4-5 days and the Gulkand will be ready.
  13. If you doesn’t have Sunlight facility then you can prepare inhouse in the oven for 50-65°C for 1 hour for 5-6 days. Please don’t keep more than one hour per day in the oven.
  14. This time I had prepared in month of May and accidentally weather changed so prepared in oven on 65°c for one hour and in this way It was ready in 6 days. Try to prepare Gulkand in month of April and dry off all excess water from the petals with the help of spreading washed petals on kitchen towel for 2 hours under the fan.
  15. In both the way testing of the Gulkand is same. It should have glossy and sticky consistency.
  16. Store in air tight glass jar.
  17. Serve 1 tspoon every day with chilled milk. Serve with love and smile.

(1)vitamin B1, (2) vitamin B2, (3) vitamin B3, (4) vitamin B5, (5) vitamin B6, (6) vitamin B7 (7) vitamin B9 (8) vitamin B12.

1. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Benefit: Supports energy production, nerve function, and digestion.
Recipe: Roasted Sunflower Seed Chutney Powder
Ingredients: Sunflower seeds, peanuts, dry coconut, cumin, rock salt, hing.
How it helps: Sunflower seeds and peanuts are excellent sources of B1. This powder improves metabolism and nerve health.
Use: Sprinkle on rice or khichdi with ghee.

2. Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Benefit: Helps in energy production, skin health, and iron absorption.
Recipe: Dry Methi & Almond Powder
Ingredients: Dried fenugreek leaves, roasted almonds, flaxseeds.

Pitta Prakop means aggravation or imbalance of Pitta dosha, where its natural qualities (hot, sharp, oily, light, acidic) become excessive. This leads to increased internal heat, irritability, inflammation, and various disorders related to digestion, skin, liver, and emotions. Pitta increases due to Hot, spicy, oily, or acidic foods, Overexposure to sun or heat, Anger, overworking, stress. Increased pitta shows Skin rashes, acne, urticaria, Heartburn,  acidity, loose stools, Irritability, impatience temperament.Excessive body heat or sweating.

(450)Hair Tonic Powder

This wonderful and nutritious hair tonic powder,  where each of its ingredients has its own benefits. Black Sesame seeds help in strengthening hair, prevent premature graying and promote healthy hair growth. Dry coconut nourishes the scalp, reduces dryness and adds shine to hair. Pumpkin seeds improve scalp health , strengthen hair follicles and reduce hair fall . Misri  has cooling effects.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Black Sesame seeds.
  • ¼ cup Pumpkin seeds.
  • ¼ cup Desiccated coconut powder
  • ¼ cup Misri powder. ( Rock Sugar)
  • 1 cube Amla juice

Method

  1. Dry roast each ingredient separately on a slow flame.
  2. Mix all dry roasted ingredients .
  3. Make a powder from the Rock Sugar and keep aside.
  4. Grind all dry roasted ingredients together in a mixture grinder in pulse mode and get nice coarse powder.
  5. Store in an air tight jar preferably glass jar for further use
  6. Every morning defrost 1 cube of Amla juice in 150 ml. water and mix 1 tbsp. of hair tonic powder. Pursue this regime with dedication for a month or two and you will definitely get a positive result.

(445) Hair Growth Serum

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. Regular Rice
  • 1 tbsp. Fenugreek seeds.
  • 1 tbsp. Kalonji.
  • 3 Hibiscus flowers.
  • 4-5 Rosemary sprigs.
  • 5-7 drops Rosemary essential oil.

Method

  1. Mix Rice, Fenugreek and Kalonji seeds and grind them into fine powder. Store this seeds powder in an air tight container.
  2. In a thick bottom pan boil Hibiscus flowers, fresh Rosemary  and 1 tsp of seeds powder in 1 cup of water for 5 minutes.
  3. Keep aside this pan to cool down .
  4. When it cools, strain this water  and add 5 drops of Rosemary essential oil. Mix well  and your hair growth serum is ready.
  5. Store this serum in the freezer in cube form.
  6. Defrost one cube and apply twice a day on your scalp with the help of a small cotton ball or with the help of a dropper or sprayer.
  7. Give a massage to your scalp for 10 minutes.
  8. Wash your hairs twice a week with mild shampoo or with home made shampoo.
  9. The amino acids in Rice  can help strengthen hair strands and prevent breakage. Fenugreek seeds, rich in protein, iron, and nicotinic acid, are used to promote hair growth,  strengthen hair follicles and stimulate blood circulation to the scalp. Kalonji seeds rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals strengthen hair follicles. Rosemary and Hibiscus stimulates hair follicles.

(439) Kumkumadi Oil.

Saffron infused oil

The ideal base oil for Kumkumadi oil is sesame oil in winter and Coconut oil  in summer and rainy season. Sesame oil as well as Coconut oil are traditionally used in Ayurvedic practices and its properties balance well with the saffron in Kumkumadi oil, making it suitable for most skin types, especially dry skin due to its Vata-pacifying nature.
Key points about using these oils as the base for Kumkumadi oil:
Moisturizing: Both oils provides deep hydration and nourishment to the skin.
Antioxidant properties: Both contains natural antioxidants that help protect the skin from damage.
Skin penetration: Both are readily absorbs into the skin.

Ingredients

  • 100 ml. Sesame oil or Coconut oil.
  • ⅛ tsp. Turmeric powder.( home made only, otherwise use fresh- raw turmeric 2 inchs long piece )
  • 1 pinch of Saffron strands.
  • 1 tbsp. Water

Method

  1. Lavigate saffron in 3-5 drops of water. Keep this paste aside.
  2. Mix  turmeric powder in the water and keep this paste aside.
  3. Add this paste in hot oil and when the moisture of the turmeric saffron paste evaporates switch off the flame. This will take 30-45 seconds only. Kumkumadi oil is ready.
  4. If you are using raw turmeric then grate it with cheese grater. Sqeeze this grated turmeric to get approximately 1 tsp of juice. Lavigate saffron in this juice. So you will get paste like consistency.
  5. Heat oil and mix this paste in it.When moisure from the paste evaporates, it takes 30 to 45 seconds. switch off the flame. Kumkumadi oil is ready.
  6. Strain the oil when it cools down. Strain either with muslin cloth or fine mesh or you can use it directly without straining.
  7. Store oil in a  glass bottle and apply every night on your washed face.
  8. With regular use of kumkumadi Oil, you will get healthy, young,  bright and flawless complexion.

Vata Prakop (वात प्रकोप) refers to the aggravation or imbalance of Vata dosha in the body beyond its normal limits.”Prakop” means provocation or aggravation.Vata, when aggravated, moves irregularly, disturbs other doshas, and disrupts digestion, nerves, joints, skin, and mind. Vata dosha aggrevate due to dry, cold, light, rough foods (e.g., popcorn, crackers, raw salads), Excessive fasting or skipping meals, Over-exertion, excessive talking, travel, or exercise, Cold weather, dry winds, or exposure to cold without protection, Stress, anxiety, grief, or fear and irregular routines.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp.  Ajwain
  • 2 tbsp. Cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp. Fennel seeds.
  • 2 tbsp. Ginger powder.
  • 1 tbsp. Black salt
  • 1 tsp. Ghee.

Method

  1. Ghee roast Ajwain and keep aside.
  2. Dry roast Cumin and Fennel seeds. Keep aside.
  3. When all seeds are completely cool down then mix black salt and Ginger powder with them.
  4. Transfer all ingredients in a mixture grinder and make a fine powder of it.
  5. In a saucepan 1 glass of water and 1 tsp. this herbal  powder boil it for 1-2 minutes and consume 2 times a day before breakfast and at bed time.
  6. It will help to reduce gas trouble which causes excessive burping, farting, swelling, and pain in joints. It will increase the metabolism which helps to reduce the weight.

(402) Five steps for the daily face skin regime.      

1) Face scrub : Clean face with face scrub like idli batter or curd with rice flour for 2-3 minutes. Wash with water.               

2) Toner:  Apply home made  toner 2 times a day ½ cup water+½ tsp glycerine+ 3-5 drops of lemon juice. Mix thoroughly and store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.    

 3) Vit. C serum:   Apply home made serum twice a day after 5 minutes when toner is completely absorbed by facial skin.  2 vit.C tablets + 1 tbsp. glycerine + 1 vit. E capsule +1 tbsp. Aloe vera gel. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.     

4)Under eye cream:  Apply home made under eye cream every 6 hrs. if possible.1 tsp. Aloe vera gel+ oil from Vit. E capsule. Mix thoroughly and store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.               

5) Moisturizer:   Apply at least two times any good  moisturizer.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Wash and pluck holy basil leaves and mint leaves from its stalk and keep aside.
  2. Wash lemongrass leaf and cut it into small pieces and keep aside.
  3. Wash and grate ginger and keep aside.
  4. In mortar mortar and pestle break all dry ingredients into small pieces.
  5. In a saucepan boil water with dry as well as green ingredients for 5 minutes on slow flame. If you have ukalo ready mix powder then use 1 tsp. ready mix powder in 2 cups along with green ingredients like Basil, Lemongrass and Phudina and do not use ginger with ready mix as it contains Ginger powder.
  6. After 5 minutes add milk and sugar and again give 4- 5 boils on slow flame.
  7. Serve hot with dry snacks like namakpare, sakkarpara or as you wish

Ingredients

1 cup Cumin seeds (Jeera).

Method

  • Grind jeera into powder.
  • Use this powder for sprinkling in Buttermilk, Curd of dahi vada, Jeera rice etc.
  • Use raw jeera for preparing jeera powder instead of roasted as raw jeera is more healthier than roasted.
  • Generally you will get coarse powder of raw jeera.
