Ingredients

Method

  1. Grind Almond and Pistachio into coarse flour in pulse mode of the grinder.
  2. Peel bananas and make a smooth paste in a mixture grinder.
  3. In a mixing bowl pour banana paste and mix chia seeds with it.
  4. Now first mix half the quantity of coarse flour of nuts and then spoon by spoon remaining flour .  In this manner you mix then you will get lump free dough.
  5. Preheat the oven at 180 °c for 10 minutes.
  6. Simultaneously spread the baking sheet on the baking tray.
  7. Divide dough into 9 equal parts, make a ball and gently press with your one palm and arrange over the baking tray.
  8. Bake it at 180°c for 20 minutes.
  9. Serve crispy from outside and soft from inside cookies either with Masala milk or Masala Tea or Herbal Tea or Ukalo or as you wish but serve with love and smile.

(297)Oats Appe

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Oats.
  • 1 cup Rice flour.
  • ½ cup Suji rawa.
  • ½ cup Udad dal (Black Gram) flour.
  • 2 inches size Ginger.
  • 2 Green chillies.
  • ¼ cup Coriander leaves.
  • 2 tsp. Salt.
  • 4½ cup water.
  • ½ cup Sour curd.
  • 1 tsp. Soda bi carb.
  • 2 tbsp. Oil.

Method

  1. Grind oats into coarse flour.
  2. In a mixing bowl mix all the flours, salt, soda bi carb, oil and water. Make a lump free batter and keep aside.
  3. In a mixture grinder make a fine paste of Ginger, Chillies and Coriander leaves.
  4. Mix thoroughly Ginger Chilli paste paste in batter and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  5. After 20 minutes check the consistency of the batter( see video).
  6. Heat nonstick Appe pan and pour batter in each cavity after greasing the cavities with ghee.
  7. Roast appe on slow flame till golden brown. Flip the side and again roast on a slow flame for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with Milagai podi powder mix with ghee.

(245)Ponk Chila.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mix dal coarse flour or batter.
  • 1 ½ cup water or buttermilk.
  • 1 tsp. Salt.
  • ½ tsp. Asafoetida powder.
  • ½ tsp. Turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp. Red chilli powder.
  • 1 tbsp. finely chopped Coriander leaves ( optional)
  • 2 Green chillies (optional)
  • 1 cup Ponk( tender jowar grains)
  • 1 cup limbu mari ni sev.

Method

  1. Mix all spices and mix dal flour or batter in a sauce pan.
  2. Adjust the consistency by adding water.
  3. Heat non stick tawa and spread 4 to 5 small chilas and sprinkle ponk on it.
  4. Roast in Ghee, Butter or Oil on both sides
  5. Serve hot chila with limbu mari ni sev and enjoy with coconut chutney.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Yellow Moongdal.
  • ¼ cup Green Moongdal.
  • ¼ cup Tur dal.
  • ¼ cup Udad dal.
  • ¼ cup Masoor dal.
  • 2 cup Rice.
  • ¼ cup Curd.
  • 1 tbsp. Ginger paste.
  • 1 tsp. Green chilli paste.
  • 1 tsp. Red chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp. Coriander Cumin powder.
  • ¼ tsp. Asafoetida powder.
  • ½ tsp. Soda bi carb.
  • 2½ tsp. Salt.
  • ¼ cup chopped Coriander leaves.
  • Oil and Sesame seeds for making appe.

Method

  1. Wash and soak all dals and rice for 8 hours.
  2. Drain excess water and grind whole content into coarse paste.
  3. Mix all spices, curd, soda and coriander leaves.
  4. Adjust the consistency by adding water. Taste the batter before any further process.
  5. Keep aside for 5-6 hours for fermentation.
  6. Heat and pour ¼ spoon oil and pinch of Sesame seeds in Appe vessel and fill the cavity with batter and close the lid.
  7. Cook for 5 minutes on slow flame. Flip and cook another side for 5 minutes.
  8. Enjoy your steaming hot appe with Amla murabba or Tomato sauce or Gol keri pickle or as you wish.

(123) Khakhra

Ingredients

Leftover fulka rotis.

Method

  1. Heat iron tawa on high flame.
  2. Start making khakhra on medium heat with the help of wooden press.
  3. Give gentle pressure every time whenever press with wooden press.
  4. Each khakhra will take 2 to 3 minutes depending on the thickness of roti.
  5. Apply melted ghee on khakhra and sprinkle Jiralu, athana no sambhar or as you desire.
  6. Enjoy with masala tea, coffee, hot chocolate milk, turmeric milk, masala tea or as you desire.

You can also make khakhra from leftover paratha, thepla or bhakhri . This khakhra will take more time means 5-6 minutes as thickness is mostly double then roti. Procedure will be the same.

(107) Khichu

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour.
  • 2 cup water.
  • ½ tbsp Sesame seeds oil for tempering.
  • 1 tsp. Cumin seeds.
  • 8-10 Curry leaves.
  • ½ tsp. Green chili paste or 2 Finely chopped green chilies(optional).
  • 1 tsp. Salt.
  • Athana no sambhar for garnishing.
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds oil for pouring.

Method

  1. In non stick pan or thick bottom kadhai heat oil.
  2. Add cumin seeds and wait for crackling sound.
  3. Add Curry leaves , saute and add water.
  4. Once water start boiling add salt , chili and  flour.
  5. Mix thoroughly all ingredients taking care to break lumps of flour.
  6. Simmer for 5 minutes in kadhai OR
  7. Pressure cook upto 2 whistles
  8. If you feel that dough is dry add 1 or 2 tb. spoon water and mix well .
  9. Switch off the flame and Khichu is ready.
  10. For serving  , fill tightly one bowl with the  khichu and unmould in the serving plate.
  11. You will get nice shape of bowl. Pour sesame oil over it, sprinkle athana no sambhar and garnish with coriander leaves.
  12. Serve hot with love and smile.

Ingredients

  • 3 cup boiled rice
  • 1 cup tender coconut
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • ½ tsp. baking soda or yeast
  • Appam pan or Appa kadai.

Method

  1. Soak rice for 6-8 hrs.
  2. Make a smooth paste of rice and coconut.
  3. Add sugar, salt and baking soda. Grind one more time for mixing all the ingredients evenly and keep aside for 6-8 hrs for fermentation. If
  4. Adjust the consistency by adding water .
  5. Consistency of batter is flowing.
  6. Heat Appa kadai . Turn the gas stove on slow flame. Grease with butter and pour ¼ cup batter and quickly spread batter evenly by swirling and tilting method.
  7. Close the lid for 1 minute.
  8. After 1 minute Appam is ready.
  9. Serve hot with vegetable stew or as you desire.

Serves 4 Omlette.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tightly filled chickpeas flour ( besan)
  • ¼ cup All purpose flour (maida)
  • ½ tsp. Salt.
  • ½ tsp.turmeric pd.
  • ½ tsp.red chilli powder.
  • Pinch of Asafoetida.
  • ½ tsp. Baking soda
  • ¾ cup water.
  • Oil for drizzling.

Method

  1. In one big mixing bowl sieves all dry ingredients.
  2. Slowly add water and make sauce like batter.
  3. Heat a lightly greased griddle.
  4. Pour the 1/4 cup batter onto the griddle and spread it evenly in circular manner.
  5. Drizzle oil at the edges and allow to cook till golden.
  6. Flip the Omlette and cook other side.
  7. Enjoy your eggless Omlette with red chutney and green chutney.
  8. You can also add finely chopped onion,tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves which will enhance the taste.
  9. On nonstick tawa you can make this without oil so it will becomes best food in Jaundice and for weight loss .

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour (maida).
  • 2 tbsp. Sugar powder.
  • 4 tsp. Baking powder.
  • ½ tsp. Baking soda.
  • ¼ tsp. Salt.
  • 1 ¾ cups milk .
  • 2 tbsp.melted butter or ghee

Method

  1. In one big mixing bowl sieves all dry ingredients.
  2. Add melted butter and mix thoroughly with dry ingredients.
  3. Slowly add milk and make a sauce like batter.
  4. Heat a lightly greased griddle(tawa) .
  5. Pour the batter on to the griddle using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
  6. Spread it evenly in circular manner.
  7. Drizzle ghee or butter at the edges and allow to cook till golden .
  8. Flip the malpuva and cook other side.
  9. Serve the malpuva with Chocolate syrup,Honey or Rabadi or as you want.Serve with love and smile.
